Ron Crane Tapped As Idaho State Chair for U.S. Term Limits

Boise, ID – Today, U.S. Term Limits announces that former Idaho State Treasurer Ron Crane has agreed to be the Idaho State Chair for U.S. Term Limits.  Crane brings a depth of public service to this role. He understands the need for term limits at the federal level and will work tirelessly in his role as Idaho State Chair to see that Idaho adopts a resolution for congressional term limits.  Polling shows that over 80% of Americans regardless of political affiliation support congressional term limits.

“I am very honored to be serving as the Idaho State Chair for U.S. Term Limits,” said Ron Crane.  “Daily, the need for congressional term limits is crystal clear when we tun on the news and see the dysfunction in Washington. Polls show that the one issue Americans are united about is the need for congressional term limits.

“Congress has become a full-time lucrative career with many members serving several decades,” concluded Crane. “Term limits will help end career politicians and make Congress work better for all Americans and get our government functioning again.”

“We are honored to have Ron leading our efforts in Idaho to pass term limits on Congress,” said Philip Blumel, President of U.S. Term Limits. “He is a strong leader who understands the problems within Congress and the need for term limits.  Under his guidance, I am confident that Idaho will pass our term limits resolution.”

Ron Crane is a third generation Idahoan.  He graduated from high school in 1967, graduated from college in 1971 and served in the Idaho National Guard from 1971 – 1977.  He was named the Idaho Soldier of the Year in 1975.  He received an honorary doctorate from Ohio Christian University in 2008.

Crane served as Idaho State Treasurer for Idaho from 1999 – 2019.  Prior to his service as Treasurer, he was a State Legislator in the Idaho House of Representatives for sixteen years.  During his time as State Treasurer, he served as Chairman of the board for the Idaho Bond Bank and Chairman of the board for the Idaho 529 College Savings Plan and currently serves on the board of the State Financial Officers Foundation.

Crane and his wife, Cheryl, own and operate a security and fire alarm company (Crane Alarm Service) for 43 years with 30 employees.  They have six married children and fourteen grandchildren.
