U.S. Term Limits Calls Out North Dakota State Senate For Killing SCR 4011
That Would Advance Congressional Term Limits Cause

Washington, DC – U.S. Term Limits called out the North Dakota State Senate for its failure to consider Senate Concurrent Resolution 4011 that would have called for North Dakota to go on record calling for a convention to amend the Constitution to impose term limits on members of Congress. The legislation had been sponsored in the Senate by Senators Jeffery Magrum, Keith Boehm, Larry Luick, Bob Paulson, Kent Weston, and in the House by Representative Jared Hendrix. A poll by RMG Research that showed 81% of North Dakotans regardless of political affiliation support congressional term limits.

The North Dakota State Senate demonstrated that it is not responsive to the will of the voters but continues to side with career politicians and special interests in refusing to even consider SCR 4011,” said Philip Blumel, President of U.S. Term Limits. “There is no other issue that generates support of over 80% of voters yet the North Dakota State Senate turned a blind eye to this.

“North Dakotans want congressional term limits, as do a vast majority of Americans,” concluded Blumel. “I am sure they will remember who defeated the congressional term limits resolution in the Senate when 2026 comes.”

States across the country are passing resolutions calling for a convention for an amendment on congressional term limits.  North Dakota is in a unique situation as being the only state to refuse to consider such a resolution in 2025.
