U.S. Term Limits is proud to announce that Mike Haridopolos, the leading candidates for Congress in Florida’s 8th District, has signed the U.S. Term Limits Pledge. By signing, Haridopolos pledges that “as a member of Congress I will cosponsor and vote for the U.S. Term Limits Amendment of three (3) House terms and two (2) Senate terms and no longer limit.”
If elected to Congress, Haridopolos will join 13 other members of Florida’s congressional delegation – including Sen. Marco Rubio, Rep. Byron Donalds and Rep. Brian Mast – in having signed the pledge. The pledge is not a self-limit; it simply asks the signer to support a constitutional amendment that would apply term limits to all members of Congress.
“Mike Haridopolos is a champion for term limits and we applaud him for making this commitment,” said Nick Tomboulides, Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Term Limits. “As Florida Senate President, Mike presided over a chamber of term-limited leaders who serve for the right reasons. Unfortunately, Congress is not run the same way. By fighting for term limits, Mike will make Congress work for the people again.”
“I fully support term limits,” Haridopolos said. “They work in Florida and will help reform Washington D.C. Supporters can count on me to support each and every vote for term limits for all members of Congress.”
In addition to his leadership in the State Senate, Haridopolos had also been a strong advocate for term limits at the local level. In 2022, as Chairman of the Brevard County Charter Review Commission, he endorsed a proposal to impose an 8-year lifetime term limit for Brevard County Commissioners.
According to a 2023 survey from Pew Research, congressional term limits is the most popular and bipartisan policy idea in America with 87% public support. To view the list of incumbent Congress members who have signed the pledge, click here.
