I have exciting news on the national term limits front.
Major action is happening in Washington D.C. and in state capitals across the country. Our U.S. Term Limits (USTL) teams are working for term limits on Congress by any means necessary.
In D.C., U.S. Representative Francis Rooney (H.J.R. 20) and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (S.J.R. 1) have introduced the USTL amendment resolution and are working to add cosponsors and secure a vote.
But let’s be real. The rest of Congress is not going to propose a term limits amendment unless they see the writing on the wall. That’s why we are also working with states to bypass Congress pass the amendment through a national Term Limits Convention!
To start off the 2019 legislative session, we have resolutions lined up in Arizona, Georgia, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Maryland, Vermont, South Carolina, Kentucky, Colorado, Michigan, Connecticut and Utah. And more states are lining up.
Now we need to get these state legislatures and pass the bills.
As soon as your state files, the grassroots leader in your area will email you with a way to get in touch with your lawmakers.
Remember: congressional term limits is the most bipartisan and popular political issue in America. A whopping 82% of the voters want term limits on Congress. But it’s still not the law of our land, because career politicians refuse to listen.
Our only choice is to make them listen by demanding our states pass the Term Limits Convention.
Please, be on the alert for action in your state. In the meanwhile, you may write your federal legislators with our online tool by clicking here: https://www.termlimits.com/legislators/.
Thank you for your continued support,
Philip Blumel
