Citizens for Term Limits

Stop the Presses!!!

It’s an all-time first!!!
Rense Johnson agrees with Hillary Clinton.

by Rense Johnson, Chairman, Citizens for Term Limits

For whatever reasons of her own, Hillary says President Bush should boycott the Chinese Olympics.

I agree with her.

I have no idea why Hillary takes the position she does, but I believe the Chinese are trying to make nice now because they see the Olympics as a status symbol giving them (likely unearned) international stature.

As soon as the games over, I believe we will see their fangs and their claws. The U. S. will be tested over Taiwan and forced to make a choice between our support for that small nation and mainland China of over a billion people. (See previous articles here about China.)

I can think of several instances where Bush’s failure to act in a timely fashion has had unfortunate consequences. This could well be another.

  1. Unfortunately, I cannot agree with this approach. The mistake was made when the International Olympic Committee agreed to allow the Olympics to be held in China with its pathetic human rights policy. Once the decision was made, the die was cast. President Bush will not be going to provide support to China’s policy, it will be to support our American athletes participating in the Olympics.

Bush should go to China but he should make it a point not to meet with the Chinese. He should limit his trip to the Olympic Opening ceremony. He should go in and out without any contact with the Beijing Government. I believe that would send a much clearer message and it would encourage our athletes. The Chinese would loose much face if Bush took that action.
