  2. I’d like to point out that Harry Reid is correct in this clip. I believe the interviewer and Mr. Reid are confusing each other with the terms they are using.

    The US system is considered voluntary because the IRS awaits your tax return before assessing your taxes. In other words, our tax system is not simple enough to calculate your tax you without voluntary information from the taxpayer.

    It is very obvious that taxes are not voluntary and for some reason Mr. Reid lacked the skill to understand the interviewer properly.
