Like Nero who fiddled while Rome burned, our Mindless, Do not Drill Democrat Congress fiddled with the nation’s energy future during its first year and seven months of its majority tenure.
While gasoline prices rose to within 30 cents of doubling, the Do Not Drillers were: (Are you ready for this? We’re not making it up!)
- Congratulating the UC-Santa Barbara Soccer Team
- National Passport Month
- Commending the Houston Dynamo Soccer Team
- National Train Day
- Great Cats and Rare Canids Act
- International Year of Sanitation
- Monkey Safety Act
And although they felt exceedingly proud of this outstanding record, they were fatigued from all their hard work, and decided they needed a rest.
So, Speaker Nancy Pelosi adjourned them for a month’s vacation without even considering the drilling necessary for our energy independence.
The conclusion is inescapable that the Nation and its future would be infinitely better off if every one were defeated in November.
The whole fiasco couldn’t be presented any clearer than the chart above produced by Roy Blunt’s office. It’s time for a fresh Congress!
