Iran's unthinking ally

Pundit Dick Morris in his YouTube editorial tells us that by having discussions with the Iranian President, Obama is giving Iran exactly what Iran needs, which is additional time to develop its nuclear capabilities. Premier Ahmadinejad has made no secret of his intention to destroy Israel, and Obama is giving him the time he needs, as Joe Biden obediently tells Israel not to attack Iran.

Israel’s motives have to be their nation’s survival, not listening to Vice President Biden, who seldom gets his facts straight anyway.

American Jews who voted for Obama (polling showed American Jews more voted than three-to-one Obama over McCain) got what they deserve, but not what Israel deserves. Sadly, American Jews have probably not yet tumbled to the damage they have done. Let’s hope that when they do it won’t be too late.

In Iran the U. S. Judeo-Christian community has an implacable enemy bent on its destruction.

Worse, Iran can hire their dirty work to be done by Islamic virgin-seeking crazies who will hit Israel and ultimately the United States by smuggling or flying nuclear bombs into their targets, so Iran can then say “Who, us? – Oh no, not peace loving Iran!”

We have written in these pages before that time – and Iran – are both our enemies. As is North Korea.

Through his recent success against maritime pirates President Obama has recently learned that prudent use of force can yield disproportionate results. We have written here before that George W. Bush didn’t have the guts to deal with North Korea when he should have, with conventional bombing of a two-bit dictator who continues to get his own way by lying and breaking promises. Which, of course, then emboldened both North Korea and Iran.

International chess games require thinking many moves in advance. It is too late now for President Obama to react directly to North Korea’s latest outrage. But not too late to tell Kim Jong-Il quietly, through back-channel diplomacy, that if he tries it again he’ll wish he hadn’t. This could have more weight with Kim Jong-Il at this point than public chastisement.

This could be a side of Obama the world has not yet seen enough of, and unfortunately will see no no more of unless he does what he should, which is: Publicly support Israel and tell Joe Biden to take a walk.

This might even wake up the American Jewish community!
