Citizens for Term Limits … for a fresh Congress!
February 16, 2009

Otto von Bismark is quoted as saying “Laws are like sausages, it is better not to see them being made.”

The Pelosi-Obama stimulus package, understood by less than five percent in Congress, according to some sources, was voted on by all – fortunately voted negatively by most conservatives who understood enough to know they weren’t having any.

It has even been amended by hand insertions in the text, as Representative Tom Price, Chairman of the Republican Study Committee showed us on a video the morning of February 13.

On the morning of February 16, Bob Beckel, Democrat strategist, tells us the bill is still being worked on. Worked on? After it has already been passed by Congress? That’s right. And that is why the President has not yet signed the Trillion Dollar Stimulus Package—because, although it was passed by Congress last week—forget about transparency, forget about posting the bill on the web for all to see—the real reason the President hasn’t signed the bill is that it is still being worked on after Congress passed it!!! Talk about bending the rules!

The unsavory, slight-of-hand machinations in the making of this law compel us to upgrade sausage manufacture to a seven-course, black tie dinner by comparison.

The most dangerous feature of Obama’s hurry-up law is its purposely written vagueness – so that the President’s Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emmanuel can interpret any of it in any way he pleases, from the White House.

The only way to recapture our country is with a congressional term limitation by constitutional amendment.
