Defense of Western Civilization -- and the Recapture of America

Winston Churchill once wrote:

We must recognize that we have a great treasure to guard; that the inheritance in our possession represents the prolonged achievement of the centuries; that there is not one of our simple uncounted rights today for which better men than we are have not died on the scaffold or the battlefield…

Churchill was, of course, writing of the broad sweep of Western Civilization. He might have added that the same great treasure has been inherited by us on our side of the Atlantic, with all that its reach has given to us, and those who have gone before us, over those same centuries. Almost without our realizing it, Western Civilization has soaked into our very being, individually and as a nation. It is what we live with day and night. It is the basis on which we determine right from wrong, make our daily life decisions. It is our ethos. If it weakens, we become weaker; if it strengthens, we become stronger. It is our civil and biblical watershed between good and evil. Fundamentally, it is what distinguishes us from the lower spawned animals we fight against, worldwide.

When we look about and see that our civilization—yes, our Western Civilization—is under vicious attack worldwide by subhuman vermin who, as Cal Thomas has pointed out, have never built anything, never invented anything, nor ever educated anyone except as to how to kill and destroy. Why? Perhaps because they value nothing. Why? Perhaps because they have nothing to value, except hatred.

These animal nothings are out to destroy us with mindless determination, just as termites are determined, or as killer bees are determined. Like termites, but unlike the bees, they thrive in the dark, as do burrowing animals.

Is negotiation possible with these cockroaches? To ask the question is to answer it.

Is our Western Civilization worth saving? To ask the question is to answer it.

Like all true Americans, Citizens for Term Limits has always known that Western Civilization, our Western Heritage, is paramount, even before we recognized its name. Citizens for Term Limits had its beginnings when a group of amateurs, with unexpected help from unexpected sources, persuaded the Louisiana Legislature in Baton Rouge to amend that state’s constitution to limit their own terms. (The LORD was sitting on our shoulder.) Louisiana is still the only state to have limited legislators’ terms by constitutional amendment, instead of by the ballot initiative.

The road from Baton Rouge over a decade ago has been long and tortuous, full of blind alleys, examples of misplaced confidence, foolish mistakes and underestimation of Republicans’ determination to cling to their careerist cushy jobs—after they blatantly welched on their Contract with America. These people, and their Democrat cohorts can and do set their own pay, perks and pensions. By accepting armloads of cash from lobbyists, they have legalized their own bribery. But this is a vital front on the war for Western Civilization, and all the potholes along the way are to be expected when we are fighting to change history.

We believe that right now with congressional poll approval in the twenties (below the President’s), conditions favor the launching of our Paul Revere effort, going over the heads of an unwilling Congress to the American people.

To keep up with the battle, you can explore our website at www.termlimits.com and see what is being posted there. We fight to recapture our Congress. We fight to recapture our country. It’s the only country we have. It’s the only Western Civilization we have. We cannot let those welching Republicans (and Democrats, who are slightly worse) to defraud us of our country.

Another Churchill quote, from his era, applicable in ours:

You do your Worst! And we will do our Best!
