Colin Powell Disloyal
From Brit Hume’s “Grapevine” on Fox News Special Report October 7, 2006
This is the guy [Richard Armitage], who with the complicity of his erstwhile boss Colin Powell, opened President Bush up to a full spectrum of unwarranted, unsubstantiated and vicious charges from the mainstream left-leaning media, who were only too eager to pile on—inflicting incalculable damage to the presidency in a way President Bush could not fairly defend nimself. Never mind that no terrorists have made it to our shores as President Bush has taken the battle to the enemy in Iraq and elsewhere, using whatever means are necessary to get the jump on those who would destroy us.
Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard, said it this way:
Colin Powell, Bush’s friend and secretary of state in the first Bush term, knew what Armitage had done and never let on. He met with Bush countless times as the White House was being pummeled in the media and by Democrats for outing a CIA agent to take revenge on her husband. Bush called publicly for the leaker to be identified. Powell knew the identity, but remained silent. Some friend.
