A Gratifying, Logical Turn of Events

It was something over a dozen years ago that term limitation took hold in Louisiana when a coalition led by Louisiana Citizens for Term Limits, with lots of help from many sources, was instrumental in assisting Louisiana’s Legislators to amend that state’s constitution thereby setting limits to their own terms. This was a small beginning, but it was of long range benefit to Louisiana citizens

Now, on January 14, 2008 we are seeing more measurable results of that small beginning, as a new Louisiana Governor is inaugurated, pledging to lead the state in new beneficial directions:

Message to Louisiana from its Governor – Elect Bobby Jindal

“Today we are officially beginning a new chapter in Louisiana history – - a chapter that is marked by our shared optimism for bringing our state a fresh start.

“As your Governor, I look forward to working with you to defeat the cynicism, the corruption and incompetence that has held our state back for too long.

“This inaugural is a celebration of the incredible movement underway in our state. It is a celebration of our rich land, our abundant resources and our skilled people. It is an appreciation of all we are and what we can become..

“Ending corruption and incompetence will not be easy, but it can be done, it must be done, and it will be done. We owe it to our children and our grandchildren to bring our state a fresh start. Together we will work to make Louisiana the national gold standard for ethics reform and jumpstart our economy to grow businesses and create jobs.

“Louisiana is on the rise, and a new chapter in our state’s history has begun.”
